YouTube Campaign Reunites Lost Vacation Photos With Owner

A viral YouTube campaign has reunited hundreds of vacation photos with their rightful owner.

In late January, Peter van Leeuwen posted the video, above, which features a slideshow of photos from an unidentified woman's European backpacking trip. Van Leeuwen had found an SD card, which carried 300 images, at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands.

Called "Who's that girl?", the 24-second YouTube video asks viewers to help identify the woman: "We are looking for this girl. We found her SD card. If you know her, please contact us."

As it turns out, "that girl" was Catriona Bowman, who is from England, but lives in France, according to the New York Daily News. Bowman was reunited with her SD card earlier this week.

At the time of writing, close to 35,000 people had seen the video, including Bowman's friend, the newspaper reported.

In 2011, a man named Todd Bieber made a YouTube video to find the owners of a canister of film he found in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. Two months later, Bieber tracked down the owners in Paris.
