YouTube Growth - We saw insane growth for Google Video when the Googlers posted a "Video" link on Google.com. We're seeing a similar trend for YouTube now that Google Video indexes YouTube clips - YouTube's market share has grown 18.5% over the past week, thanks to Google's latest move. Interestingly, MySpace is still the biggest referrer of traffic to YouTube according to Hitwise - surely a rev share deal is in the works to keep MySpace happy?
Neighborrow - Neighborrow is a new service for borrowing books, movies, CDs and tools from your neighbors - it's like a specialized Craigslist, with a bit of social networking, too.
Topix-Tribune - Topix.net has just struck a deal to power the merchandise classifieds on Tribune newspaper sites, starting with the Baltimore Sun and extending to 11 others by May. Topix has become a highly successful news aggregator that's performing very well indeed. (via)
BuddyStumbler - BuddyStumbler is a new social network based around IM usernames. It's an interesting and unique idea: users list all their IM names from various IM clients, and others can track down their profiles via search, tagging and a network of friends. It does, however, pose some risks: just like Tworl, it seems that connecting to random people via IM could pose a risk to your safety. I do, however, like the idea of combining social networks and IM - could Meebo ever implement profile pages?
