Just hours after Google rolled out its latest Gmail app for iOS, the company has introduced a new YouTube update for the iPhone, iPad and AirPlay.
The updated YouTube app -- which is now available in the App Store -- is optimized for the iPad and iPhone 5 device.
"Just in time for the holidays, now you can download or update the YouTube app with a look designed for the iPad and iPhone 5, enhanced AirPlay support, videos that start faster and play more smoothly, and improved accessibility with VoiceOver," the company said in an official blog post.
Google added that more than 25% of all YouTube occurs via a mobile device. Since launching the YouTube app for the iPhone and iPod touch, YouTube has become the No. 1 free app in the App Store for the past few months.
"Since then, we’ve been hard at work to improve the app based on your feedback," the company said.
