Will We Ever See the Debut of YouTube Music?

Chris LaRosa, the head of YouTube’s "upcoming" music subscription service, is leaving the company. This setback marks yet another roadblock for the long-delayed project.

Although YouTube music has been touted as a "Spotify killer," this most recent departure makes its future all the more ominous. LaRosa is the second person in charge of the project to leave over the past year.

The Wall Street Journal reports these departures and delays are the result of internal arguments about how the service should be designed and organized, including what features YouTube users would have to pay for.

Lamarr Wilson discusses this turbulent development in the latest episode of YouTube Weekly.
