YouTube attempts to cozy up to the record labels again: they're announcing a deal today with Wind-up Records, an indie music label, to share ad revenue from any clip that contains music from Windup Records' artists. Wind-up will also upload videos from its artists, which include Evanescence, Seether, Finger Eleven, People in Planes, Pilot Speed, Stars of Track and Field, and Strata. What's more, they'll allow fans to include certain authorized tracks in videos, which suggests inclusion in AudioSwap.

It's the same old deal: YouTube offers to find tracks using audio fingerprinting, and share revenue rather than pulling the videos from the site. But while Wind-up adds a minor label to the lineup, not to mention the official launch of the NBA Channel yesterday, YouTube's TV deals are causing trouble.
