YouTube has won a court case, believe it or not. After a somewhat inappropriate video of the famous Brazilian mode Daniella Cicarelli was shown on YouTube, she sued YouTube for copyright infringement. Consequently, the video-sharing site was banned in Brazil. While the ban was eventually lifted, the legal battle ensued between Cicarelli and YouTube.

The court has ruled in favor of YouTube earlier this week, and Cicarelli is now required to pay about $5,000 to YouTube, iG, and Globo, the companies she was suing for compensation. Whether or not this ruling will have larger implications on YouTube's legal standing regarding better copyright protection and disciplinary actions for users that continuously violate copyright laws is yet to be seen. But from the looks of the piling companies and organizations that are joining forces against YouTube, it's looking like it will have a hard time convincing courts around the world to rule in their favor again.
