Zebras escape Philadelphia zoo, taste temporary freedom

Citizens across West Philadelphia rejoiced on Sunday afternoon as a pair of tenacious zebras escaped from their circus and galloped about in a bid for freedom.

The zebras were part of the UniverSoul Circus outside the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, according to NBC Philadelphia.

A low-speed chase has ensued, paralyzing traffic in the area.

NBC Philly is also reporting police sources as saying one zebra was apprehended around 2:20 p.m. local time and police later reported that both zebras were in custody.
