Ever wanted to take back a file you sent out? Well now you can. Meet Zecter, a new e-mail/file sharing and collaboration service that changes the way we share information.

With Zecter, a service initially funded by Y Combinator, you no longer have to worry about who your e-mail will be forwarded to because you can track its movement from contact to contact. If you decide you do not want a certain person seeing the e-mail, you can simply choose not to share it with them. It's as simple as that. At any point in time, the e-mail attachment you sent an hour ago, a week ago, a month ago can be taken away from the possession of others.

Last summer, we wrote about the different file hosting and sharing sites that existed. Over 80 different sites offered in 2007 what Zecter offers now. The only difference is that Zector can promise to take back time. How often have you accidentally clicked send on an e-mail or copy someone that you wish you hadn't?

Similar to Google Docs, Zecter lets you share, change, edit, and save files in real time. You never have to wait for uploading or downloading because Zecter sends e-mails and files as fast as instant messages. With increased control and visibility, you no longer have to worry where your files are going.

You can choose to track the file or e-mail and unshare it with any single person at any given time. You choose the preferences and access privilieges. You track the access to your file. There is also offline Web access to your e-mails and files.

Sure, Zecter's drag-and-drop 'ZDrive' may sound like a revamped version of remote assistance, but there is no denying that when your private e-mail gets sent to the wrong person you will be crying for their service.
