Notoriously -- shall we shay -- confident in himself, Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not play the part of gracious winner post-match Tuesday.

Before Ibrahimovic and Sweden played the second leg of a playoff against Demmark for a spot in the quadrennial Euro 2016 tournament, the 34-year-old legend suggested he might retire from international soccer should Sweden fail to qualify. Instead, he scored two goals to send the Danish team packing. Then he sent all of Denmark to the burn ward.

"There was the thought that this would send me into retirement," Ibrahimovic said after his two-goal performance. "I sent their entire country into retirement."

To which we can only add:

Meanwhile, here are match highlights, complete with Zlatan's pair of goals:

Denmark and Sweden have a long history of going to war with one another, but Ibrahimovic ended this one with two goals and one expertly-placed verbal shot.

The real winner in all of this is us, however -- we now get to watch Ibrahimovic lead Sweden into Euro 2016 next summer.
