Mark Zuckerberg's college roommate Samyr Laine may give the Facebook CEO something to cheer about when the latter completes the triple jump final at the Olympics in London on Thursday.

Laine, who was born in the U.S. of Haitian parents, visited the country for the first time in 2010 following the earthquake there that killed 300,000. Laine is one of five athletes representing Haiti in the Olympics this year. Haiti hasn't won a medal since 1928.

The 28-year-old Laine faces some tough competition. In the qualifying rounds, Laine leaped 16.81, making him number 10 on the list of athletes competing in the event. Number one is Christian Taylor of the U.S. with 17.21. However, Laine's personal best in the event is 17.39 meters. The triple jump is scheduled for 2:20 pm EST.
