All-encompassing web creation tool Zude has just raised $5.3 million from Irwin Lieber and Barry Rubenstein of Wheatley Partners, Persistency Capital and Gund Investment, LLC. Additional funding comes from Bergstein, LLC. As part of the funding deal, Barry Rubenstein of Wheatley Partners has joined Zude's board of directors. Dan Bricklin, co-creator of VisiCalc, has also been appointed to the board of directors.

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]We've covered Zude in the past--it's a rather involved "social computing platform" that offers several tools for creating your own web experience, no matter what that may be. Bring your social networks into one location and manage them all from your Zude account, or make a personalized start page. Its claim to fame would probably be its design customization options that users can take advantage of in this free-form creation tool, along with the multiple "windows" you can utilize to mashup web content and bring in items from across the web in order to centralize a good portion of your online life, as you see fit.
