Dear 2016,

You're the worst.

No seriously -- from the death of some of the most talented artists in the world to that whole presidential election thing -- you have been such a completely awful year and now everything is screwed.

One jaded soul decided to cope by creating a Brexit-themed parody of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band to highlight what a shit show this year has been, and we really needed it right now.

Though 2016 has provided us with an absurd number of disappointments, it was after the death of Leonard Cohen that Twitter user christhebarker became inspired to highlight the 43 events that hurt us the most.

With some brilliant photoshop skills, he gathered together some of the other greats who passed away -- Muhammad Ali, Prince, David Bowie and Gene Wilder -- and gave a special nod to other horrible 2016 things like the Toblerone controversy and Brexit.
