'Batman v Superman' just got a bunch of Razzie nominations
Alas, 2017 is not the year Ben Affleck wins his third Oscar. But Batfleck may go home with an armful of awards from another prestigious institutions -- the Golden Raspberry Awards for truly terrible films. Apart from Zoolander 2, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice led the pack Monday morning with eight nominations.
According to the Razzie website, "the crop of cinematic crap in 2016 was so extensive" that categories were expanded to include six nominees instead of the usual five.
Affleck and costar Henry Cavill both scored nominations for Worst Actor, along with 2005 Razzie nominee Ben Stiller and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Robert De Niro. Other general awfulness recognized includes Allegiant, Suicide Squad and the entire cast of Collateral Beauty.
