'Black Panther,' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' score multiple Oscar nominations

Is it already Oscar season? Was it not just yesterday, or perhaps 10 years ago, that we watched the epic Moonlight/La La Land flub and then called it a night? That was actually almost two full years ago, so time is a construct and we're back to the Hollywood hills in preparation for the 2019 ceremony.

The 2019 nominees were announced Tuesday morning by black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross and The Big Sick's Kumail Nanjiani. Black Panther's 7 nominations marked a massive achievement for Marvel Studios, while Roma became a historic first Best Picture nomination from Netflix. Despite recent controversy, Green Book appeared in multiple categories, and Bradley Cooper's much-touted adaption of A Star Is Born didn't earn the actor a Best Director nomination.
