7 gifts for people who were burned by the Samsung Galaxy Note7
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 was hands-down one of the biggest disappointments of the year. Samsung finally built the Voltron of phones, only for the Note7 to literally burn up and be permanently discontinued.
If you owned a Note7 and had to give it up, we feel your pain. It sucked to lose such a high-caliber phone and some people may never trust Samsung products again.
In loving memory of the Note7, here are seven gifts for anyone who got burned -- physically and metaphorically -- by the phone.
1. Otterbox case
As phones get ever slimmer, there's really not much between you and the electrical components inside. In other words: there's nothing to protect you if your phone's battery inflates. We're usually against big and bulky cases, but if you absolutely must get one to shield your hand from direct contact with your phone, you might as well get one from Otterbox with four layers of protection. They're not fireproof, but the four layers of protection is better than nothing.

2. Google Pixel XL
Barring Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge, the best flagship Android alternative is probably Google's Pixel XL. It's got a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, all-day battery life and what's considered one of the best smartphone cameras. Heck, you might like it more than the Note7 for its stock Android, Google Assistant and Daydream View VR support.

3. Cocoa butter
Burns are no laughing matter, especially ones sustained from an exploded Note7. Assuming your burn isn't serious enough for a trip to the ER, there are tons of over-the-counter burn creams and ointments. Our go-to is cocoa butter -- preferably 100 percent pure and organic. Pick your brand and lather this stuff all over your burns. It should soothe them over in no time and, hopefully, help you eventually forget about the disastrous Note7.

4. Fireproof box
Maybe you're one of the brave crazy ones still hanging onto your Note7 because you think it won't blow up. But deep down inside you're probably still afraid it could combust. The feeling is real, but you can still get some peace of mind knowing it won't burn your house down when you're asleep by keeping your Note7 in a fireproof box. It works great if you're paranoid about your non-Note7 phone catching on fire, too.

Who would have thought fire-resistant gloves with touchscreen tips existed? Well, they do, and they might just protect your fingers from a Note7 or phone that suddenly decides to overheat. They're made in the U.S. and even have leather reinforcements to cushion the knuckles.

Never forget! Whether you switched to an iPhone after the Note7 was deemed unsafe or you're already an iPhone user who likes to troll your Android friends, this burned skin/case designed to look like a destroyed Note7 battery is the perfect reminder of the year's biggest debacle.
