Apparently, the 9/11 memorial is a stop on Pokémon Go
There have been plenty of weird places to catch Pokémon on Pokémon Go, such as cemeteries and hospitals. But some places should maybe be left off the map.
It seems that the game primarily chooses landmarks and notable locations for its Pokespots, which are destinations where players can restock on digital supplies and set 'lures' to attract Pokémon. One of these spots is at the 9/11 Memorial Pool.

On one hand, we gotta catch 'em all. On the other, there is something a little off with catching fictional creatures in a place that is marked for remembering the tragic events on September 11, 2001.

At the same time, the game is also very effective at getting people out of their apartments and exploring their cities. Visiting these notable locations (even a memorial) may also be a learning opportunity for a user to discover things they didn't know about where they live.
Still, it seems a little insensitive to have that place as a gathering spot so people can scoop up little cartoon monsters.
And, of course, always remember to be careful while playing your game, Pokéfans.
