LONDON -- The thousands of visitors who flock to Abbey Road each year don't get to make it past the front gates, but if you own a Google Cardboard you can now hear and see what happens inside the renowned studios.

The studios, where everyone from the Beatles, to Pink Floyd and Adele, have recorded, have worked with Google to create a virtual reality tour that brings you inside a recording session in Studio 1, the mirrored drum room in Studio 3 and the mastering suites, among other highlights.

The app (currently available for Android and coming soon to iOS) features a nine-part guided tour, narrated by Giles Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin, who died earlier this year.

The Cardboard VR tour builds on the studio's previous partnership with Google, which resulted in a website constructed from 1,000 HDR photos, allowing people to snoop around the landmark. In a blog post, Google says more than 2 million people have used the website to date.
