Actress is forced to back out of job due to freak fidget spinner accident

They're a danger to society.

It's all fun and games until someone is injured and out of work.

If you haven't heard of the fidget spinner, you've been living under a rock. It's the latest craze among the youths.

An Irish actress named Ayoola Smart took to her Instagram to share a picture of herself laid up in bed along with a message about her freak fidget spinner injury.

Smart wrote, "LIFE has a funny way of happening to you. Today I very unwilling had to pull out of the play #Futureproof due to a freak accident involving a #fidgetspinner and a small child."

According to the Irish Examiner, the actress was standing in a shop in her hometown of Cork, Ireland, when a child lost control of a fidget spinner. In the chaos that ensued, the child ended up hitting Smart behind her ear, giving her a concussion. Doctors ordered Smart to rest for up to two weeks to recover from the head injury.

The fidget spinner incident couldn't have come at a worse time for Smart who was set to appear in a play called Futureproof.

Just two weeks prior, Smart tweeted about her excitement over the new role.

We had an inkling that fidget spinners were a scourge upon the earth. We hope Ayoola makes a speedy recovery.

Mashable has reached out to Ayoola Smart and will update this post if we hear back.
