Time and time again we have come to learn it isn't wise to come for Alicia Keys.

Two weeks ago, one of the The Girl Who's On Fire's less-perfect Voice co-hosts (Adam Levine) stopped by The Howard Stern Show where he was randomly asked about Alicia being makeup-free. In response, the Maroon 5 singer told a story that would make any true Keys fan proud.

Stern - who weirdly felt like the 15-time Grammy winner's personal decisions were conversation-worthy with some dude she works with - asked what Levine makes of her make-up free situation.

"She's making a big deal about not wearing makeup," Stern pointed out for truly no reason at all.

"She's, by the way, so great," Levine said before beginning a story about a time he playfully teased Keys for putting on a little makeup.

"Oh, I thought Alicia doesn't wear makeup," he said, when he saw her putting some on before a show.

Alicia's response?

"I do what the fuck I want."
