Despite the technical difficulties, Adele persisted.

With live television comes unexpected moments. For the second year in a row, Adele stumbled through her moment on the Grammy stage — but this time, she was compelled to stop and restart her performance, a tribute to the late George Michael.

"I'm sorry, I can't mess this up for him," she exclaimed in the middle of her off-key performance after swearing and starting Michael's "Fast Love" over again.

After a mid-song standing ovation, Adele nailed the second go-round of the song.

People on Twitter shared messages of support for Adele, who was visibly upset when the performance ended.
