You're meant to be studying aren't you? Never fear though, this could be a solution.

A Chrome extension called V Energy Adnotes wants to replace advertisements on the internet with study notes, helping to provide some degree of academic benefit to those long sessions of watching cat videos and reading about the Kardashians.

Each note can consist of text and/or an image. It'll sit on top of conventional banner ads you see on websites, even replacing the ads sitting on the "wings" of certain websites (although they're barely readable). It takes about a second or two for the Adnotes extension to take over an ad, so it appears it doesn't simply omit them like a traditional adblocker does.

It won't work with "integrated" solutions such as Facebook/Twitter ads, or those sponsored links you spot on the end of articles, however.

The extension is the creation of an Australian energy drink maker, V, so it's a lot like replacing an ad with another ad. But hey, at least there's some sort educational benefit to be had?
