Hey internet! In this long year called March, I set a goal to drink more water. To help me on my quest, I picked up a Hydro Flask and put it to the test for a week of working from home. Here’s how it went down.

No stink

I’ve long given up plastic and single-use bottles, but before nabbing a Hydro Flask, my reusable bottle curved inwards at the top, making it tricky to get in there with a sponge or a brush. Hence, that nasty bottle stink that kind of smells like wet socks. Not exactly appetizing. Cleaning the Hydro Flask and keeping it fresh is a snap — no bottle brush required.

Another bonus: my apartment is no longer littered with abandoned drinking glasses by nightfall.

Easy squeezy

Back when we worked from the office, it was easy to forget to drink enough water. Working from home this past year I’ve had the same problem of not getting up for a refill frequently enough, despite my desk being a very short walk from the kitchen.

Since getting the 22-ounce Hydro Flask tumbler, I’ve been sipping nonstop, easily finishing 4 or 5 tumbler-fulls by the time I wrap up the work day. Inspired by a Mashable article extolling the joys of lemon water, I’ve been squeezing half a lemon into my Hydro Flask when filling it. I like to think of it as my spa water. The wide mouth on the tumbler means it’s easy squeezin’, with no messy citrus incidents.

#Refillforgood

By 2050, there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish. That’s a scary thought. To help turn the tides against that alarming stat, Hydro Flask is rallying folks to #refillforgood by switching to reusable water bottles, ditching clamshell containers, and standing up against single-use straws.

Hold up, though — can a reusable water bottle really make a difference? If just one person switches to a reusable bottle, approximately 217 water bottles will be saved from going to a landfill in a single year. Save plastic and save cash, too: buying bottled water is 2,000 times more expensive than drinking from the tap. It’s pretty much a no brainer to BYOB.

Make mine alpine

Don’t you want your water bottle to be as colorful as you are? Hydro Flask has some sweet new spring colors, inspired by nature and good for the ‘gram. I opted for a nice minty alpine.

The tumbler is easy to grab and go on my morning dog walks. Because mornings often call for coffee, I’ll switch out the straw lid for a press-in lid, which features Honeycomb Insulation to keep my cuppa joe piping hot, or stick with the straw top to keep the water flowin.'
