A new app is trying to make it a little easier out there for up-and-coming DJs.

AGNT, which launched on Tuesday at the EDMBiz Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, is a desktop platform and mobile app that connects DJs with event organizers "in a complete end-to-end process." Built by EDM insiders Mike Henderson, Viet Nguyen and David Nguyen, it has access to thousands of DJs and event listings across the U.S. and Canada.

For DJs, AGNT is meant to serve as a way to promote themselves, too, as the app allows them to play their own sets via a built-in music player, search upcoming listings and express interest in performing. Organizers, meanwhile, can search for DJs based on location, genre, date and price. If there's a match, the app will coordinate payment with a 6 percent to 10 percent service fee.

"The EDM market is worth $6.9 billion globally and within that there are an estimated 1.3 million unrepresented DJs,” Viet Nguyen said in a statement on Tuesday. “As it stands, the entertainment industry frequently relies on word of mouth to secure talent, and the current model of booking DJs is really inefficient -- countless emails back and forth, limited access to artists and failed payments. We saw an opportunity to offer a streamlined service that would provide access to great talent with a simplified search and booking process while still allowing artists to represent themselves, saving everyone time and money.”

AGNT is partnering with Canadian festivals like Center of Gravity, Chasing Summer, and Wasaga this summer to handle a portion of their DJ bookings.
