Everyone has a different idea of what the American dream entails.

But for some, the dream of sleeping in President Donald Trump's childhood home can now be fulfilled for only $725 (£574) a night.

Trump's Tudor-style 5-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom childhood home in Jamaica Estates, Queens, is now listed on Airbnb, so hurry if you want to book it for the perfect getaway weekend in New York.

"Not much has been changed since the Trumps lived here," the listing reads. "The kitchen is original and the opulent furnishings represent the style and affluence in which the Trumps would have lived. This is a unique and special opportunity to stay in the home of a sitting president."

Trump's childhood home sleeps 20 guests and even features a giant cutout of Donald in the living room, "a great companion for watching Fox News late into the night".

The listing is verified on Airbnb but has no relationship with the White House, the president, Donald Trump or the Trump organization.

Misha Hagani, the principal of Paramount Realty USA which auctioned off the home for $2.14 million to an unnamed buyer in March, confirmed to Newsday the authenticity of the Airbnb post.

“The operator of the Airbnb listing is someone I know and they contacted me to tell me that this is what their plan is,” Hagani said.

It's unclear whether the property owner or the leaseholders placed the ad on Airbnb:

“I don’t know if I can comment on that,” Hagani said. “I do know who it is. Whether it’s the owner . . . or someone else . . . I just don’t know that the person wants to be identified as such.”

However, the listing says a tenant lives in the "one of the bedrooms which will not be accessible to you during your stay".
