From Nov. 20 to Nov. 21, former Vice President Al Gore, alongside climate activists trained through his Climate Reality Project, will host over 1,600 presentations to encourage climate action.

Dubbed "24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action," the presentations will unite activists in communities around the world to share presentations with similar talking points as Gore presents in the Academy Award-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. Presentations are taking place in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, in 77 countries, and even in Antartica.

Gore kicked off the 24 hour event with a speech at Vanderbilt University on Wednesday night. He called on some U.S. politicians to step aside, according to the Associated Press.

"We need to really clean house. Change is not happening fast enough unless we change policy,” Gore said. "To change our policies, we’re going to have to change our policy makers."

Elsewhere, during the 24 hour period, local leaders will share the same message as Gore's but include localized messages about the ways in which the climate crisis impacts specific communities.

Conversations are happening schools, place of worship, community centers, homes, and businesses, according to the Climate Reality Project. The project's website says that these events will reach a collective audience of over 60,000 people.

To participate, you can register on the Climate Reality Project's website and locate an event nearby. You can also follow Climate Reality's Twitter for updates on events happening.

The Climate Reality Project says it has partnered with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for each person attending. The project's website allows attendees to pick the region where they want their tree planted.

For those looking to initiate their own climate conversations, Gore's project also offers useful tips for starting conversations that echo the framework of his own presentation.
