It was fun while it lasted.

Although Alec Baldwin has captured America's attention with his impression of President Trump, it seems like the actor will be taking a step back from it after the current season of Saturday Night Live.

Baldwin sat down for an interview with Extra's Mario Lopez Monday, where the two discussed his upcoming movie Boss Baby and the future of his guest appearances on SNL.

During the interview, Baldwin revealed that he plans to retire from his Trump impression soon.

“The maliciousness of this White House has people worried," he said, "...that’s why I’m not going to do it much longer, the impersonation, I don’t know how much more people can take it.”

The actor also explained his personal feelings about the President.

“Trump just overwhelmingly lacks any sportsmanship, he remains, bitter and angry and you just want to look at him and go, ‘You won!'”

It could probably be assumed that Baldwin's Trump will remain for the rest of this current SNL season, but any episode might mark the last of his squinty, pouty impression.
