Alexa and Cortana are finally on speaking terms

In a move reminiscent of Cher's friendship with Tai, the baddest bitch in the digital assistant schoolyard has a new project. Thanks to the peacemaking powers of the A.I. overlords, Alexa is now on intimate speaking terms with former rival Cortana! BFFs!!!

Last year, Microsoft and Amazon announced the two companies would work together to integrate their respective digital assistants. The companies gave a preview of the functionality at Microsoft's 2018 Build event, showcasing how Alexa and Cortana can work together. That ability has now rolled out to the masses.

See, Alexa is like your Type-A friend who's all over everything: she can call you a car, play you some tunes, and wake you the heck up in the morning! But Cortana is more reserved and profesh, since she works with Microsoft products like Outlook.

Getting these two ladies together means you can ask Alexa to tell Cortana to let you know what's on the cal!! All you have to do is tell your Echo, "Alexa, open Cortana." Then, by saying, "Hey Cortana, open Alexa" to your Windows 10 PC, you can tell Cortana to ask Alexa to book you that DryBar appointment to make sure your hair is on point for your Cortana-scheduled events. Simple!
