The original Alien is a nearly 40-year-old masterpiece about a group of space truckers who encounter the most terrifying space bug of all time.

In the decades since, the space bugs have returned to maim and murder and do their gross chestburst-y thing in sequel after sequel. Did you know they fought the Predator? Twice?

With a new installment in the Alien franchise coming in 2017, now might be a good time to refresh yourself on the adventures of the space bugs.
