Teen activist and actress Amandla Stenberg has a perfect new project in the works.

The Hunger Games actress is set to star in an adaptation of The Hate U Give, an upcoming novel inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement by Angela Thomas. Stenberg's rep confirmed the attachment to Mashable.

George Tilman Jr. (The Longest Ride, Notorious) will direct and Audrey Wells (Under the Tuscan Sun) will write the script, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news Wednesday. Fox 2000 bought the rights to the film after a competitive bidding war with other studios and producers.

Stenberg will play Starr, a poor 16-year-old whose world is divided into two realms: her poverty-stricken neighborhood and her fancy prep school. Everything changes when her unarmed best friend gets shot and killed by a police officer. The title, The Hate U Give, is inspired by Tupac.

Stenberg has long been a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and an outspoken intersectional feminist.

Thomas tweeted happily about the news, praising Tilman Jr. and Stenberg's involvement.

She's also celebrating the news in the best way -- by listening to Beyoncé's "Formation."
