Do not f*ck with the Rose Parade or people on the internet will yell at you

Buckle up, folks – 2018's first flurry of angry one-star Amazon reviews is already underway.

The streaming giant decided to get in on the Rose Parade this year, working with Funny or Die to present a live broadcast of the annual event for Amazon Prime.

Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon hosted the stream as "Cord Hosenbeck" and "Tish Cattigan," with an assist from fellow SNL alum Tim Meadows. While that sounds like a lot of great comedic talent, a lot of Prime members weren't laughing.

Of the more than 2,000 reviews of the event on Amazon, about half (46% as of writing) gave the broadcast one star. And a lot of those came from people who either didn't realize the commentary was meant to be satirical, or from people who did realize it but felt the Rose Parade was no place for such goofy shenanigans.

That said, there were plenty of others who loved Amazon Prime's Rose Parade coverage – it got almost as many five-star reviews as it did one-star ones. Like from this person, who decided to play along as a longtime fan of "Cord" and "Tish."

Amazon Prime may have learned to mess with the Rose Parade at their own risk, but they also just learned that polarizing the audience is a pretty good way to get attention.
