Everything coming to Amazon Prime Video in December 2020

Amazon Prime Video is back with new shows and movies to stream this December.

Have the time for TV? Try the teen survival drama The Wilds, which is giving us major Lost vibes. You could instead continue through Season 5 of the antihero sci-fi series The Expanse. Or laugh away the insanity of 2020 with Yearly Departed, a women-led comedy special featuring Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Silverman, Natasha Rothwell, and more.

You can make it a movie night with Amazon Originals including the drummer drama Sound of Metal, the Rachel Brosnahan-led I'm Your Woman, and the period summer romance Sylvie's Love. You can also rent or purchase Aubrey Plaza's Black Bear thriller, family comedy The War with Grandpa, and Christopher Nolan's Tenet.

Music is Ruben's (Riz Ahmed) entire life, which is why — after he begins to lose his hearing — it feels like everything, including his career as a drummer, is coming to an end. But after he checks into a sober house for the deaf that's meant to help him recover from his heroin addiction and adapt to his new circumstances, he starts to question what kind of life he really wants to live.

Sound of Metal got excellent reviews from critics who praise Ahmed's convincing performance as well as the gritty narrative. The heavy, atmospheric preview has us curious about what's to come.
