Amazon product pages went down, but cute dogs made everything better

They're all good dogs.

Brace yourself for a lot of dogs on Amazon pages instead of that dress or chew toy you were trying to buy.

Many product pages on the online shopping site are down this afternoon. You can still get to the Amazon homepage, but when you click on a product, like an Echo or a book, you're introduced to a pooch.

Instead of a usual "this page is down" notice, everyone is getting redirected to the "Meet the dogs of Amazon" screen. Cute, but it makes it hard to shop for anything with the dogs popping up.

But the Amazon office dogs are super cute. Every time you refresh or go to a different product page you get introduced to a new dog. It makes the outage way easier to handle. Some of the cuties we've spotted include Rufus, Lola, Ranger & Remi, Peek, Oliver, Duke, Meela, Barney, and Cannoli. It seems too cruel to rank them, they're all great dogs.

On Twitter, Amazon shoppers were also surprised to see the site down. But happy to find their new favorite dogs.

Down Detector listed thousands of reports about problems on the site. Around 2 p.m. PT it looked like things were starting to improve.

We've reached out to Amazon to get more details about the outage. Meanwhile, meet a dog or two.
