Amazon reportedly plans to launch Prime, Amazon Fresh in Singapore
Amazon's local services could be coming to Singapore soon, according to a new report.
The tech giant is "covertly acquiring assets" ahead of a Southeast Asia launch, TechCrunch reported. TechCrunch cited "two sources close to the company." Amazon declined to comment to TechCrunch and did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Mashable.
Amazon's addition of Prime and Amazon Fresh, a grocery delivery service, to Singapore would be the first expansion of those services to Southeast Asia.

Amazon has expressed its interest in expanded Southeast Asia business before. The company considered acquiring the regional grocery delivery service Redmart, which was instead acquired Wednesday by the Alibaba-backed e-commerce company Lazada.
China's Alibaba is Amazon's biggest rival worldwide, and both companies have the potential to grow in Southeast Asia's market of 600 million consumers.
Amazon launched a version of Prime in China last week.
