Streaming meets shopping with Amazon's new daily live show
Amazon is giving home shopping a digital video makeover.
The e-commerce giant announced Tuesday the launch of its first daily, live show, Style Code Live.
The series, which streams on weeknights beginning Tuesday, is "dedicated to fashion and beauty, featuring useful tips from style experts and viewers, looks the audience can easily shop, and an interactive viewing experience that includes live chat."

An Amazon spokesperson told Mashable that this latest effort is not directly part of Amazon Studios, the company's original content division. This particular live show will live within the Amazon Video store on the website.
Still, Style Code Live is a strategic program, as it it caters to both shoppers who already use the platform and digital-first, fashion-obsessed younger viewers. As Engadget wrote, Style Code is essentially "QVC for the YouTube generation."
Its hosts -- Lyndsey Rodrigues (MTV's Total Request Live), Rachel Smith (Good Morning America correspondent) and Frankie Grande (brother of pop star Ariana and alum of CBS's Big Brother) -- will partake in a variety of interactive features like Style Carousel, which allows viewers to purchase corresponding products on Amazon from a carousel under the video player.

The show's first batch of guests -- including YouTuber Tati Westbrook and pop star Meghan Trainor -- hail from both the traditional and digital entertainment worlds.
“Style Code Live gives viewers a first-of-its-kind daily style and entertainment experience," the show's executive producer Terence Noonan said in a statement. "We’re live, interactive, and covering the latest trends in fashion and beauty each weeknight—with guest experts, celebrities, and viewer tips. We are building a community and are super excited for our viewers to be part of it.”
