Nevermind the sugar.

If you're a chronic obsessive of sweet things, and love American things more than Americans do, then these baked goods are for you.

Krispy Kreme in Australia has released new doughnuts which have an American theme, with intense-sounding names such as The Big Apple Pie, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Coconut Cream Pie and Campfire S'mores. All we need now is some weak, watery coffee, and the culinary ode to the country will be complete. (Okay, that is just payback for thinking we all eat at Outback Steakhouse).

The thing is, these doughnuts are really super rich, like if the typical Krispy Kreme donut wasn't enough decadence for you. If you're into it, then hey, we're not the ones to judge.

Mashable Australia tried these sweet things out for ourselves, and here are our thoughts on the baked homage to the U.S.

Campfire S'mores

Although you'd be wishing to sing "kumbaya" by the end of your doughnut, the taste of marshmallow consumes the entire thing, meaning that you'd need to love the sickly sweet confectionary to enjoy it. We don't particularly, and therefore this one ain't for us.

Coconut Cream Pie

Remember how good the Raffaello was? This is essentially a bigger version of that, with way more shredded coconut heaped on top. The inside is exactly like that godly juice you get inside a Raffaello: a creamy coconut concoction that will make you want to lick the thing inside out. Can we have a Ferrero Rocher doughnut now?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time

While peanut butter and jelly might be a bonafide American lunchbox classic, the combination is still a pure novelty within Australia. One of our taste testers said, the flavours are like "two things that don't fit together." It's true, they don't, as much as you'd like to tell us they do. We like our crunchy peanut butter by the spoonful and solo.

The Big Apple Pie

In a throwback to that scene in American Pie, the humble Apple Pie has always been a struggle to consume. The doughnut version tries to make amends.

In bad news, the closest this doughnut comes to an apple pie is the jammy cinnamon centre. Aside from that brief flirtation, this guy is just a regular doughnut with crumbly icing, which unfortunately won't leave you thinking of the stars and stripes.

Send bagels, please.
