Amir Khan may be very good at boxing, but it turns out he's not quite as good at politics.

Specifically, the question of whether or not the UK has ever had a female Prime Minister.

Khan is currently a contestant on ITV's reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. At the moment the campmates are taking part in a task that involves one of them acting as "Prime Minister" for the camp, and on Sunday night's show the conversation turned political.

At which point, Amir Khan asked the following:

Oh dear.

In fairness to Khan, he quickly corrected himself.

"Oh, Margaret Thatcher!" he said. "Shit."

Oh double dear.

"Don't tell anyone about that," Khan said to his campmates, after he'd realised his mistake.

At which point one of them pointed out that it was probably too late...

Still, while he's in the jungle, internet-based mockery will probably be the last thing on Khan's mind.
