Software engineer dunks on NBA star, adorable mom can't contain herself on Facebook
Moms, right? You can't do anything without them posting about it on Facebook.
That even -- or especially -- goes for dunking on NBA All-Stars. What we have here is a good old heartwarming story of maternal pride.
Our tale starts at the Drew League in Los Angeles. It's arguably the nation's most prestigious summer pro-am league; NBA stars routinely show up to get in off-season work against talented ballers who play in basketball's lower rungs. Fans line up before the gym opens to secure good seats.

Andre Drummond, All-Star center for the Detroit Pistons, was among the latest NBA stars to make a Drew League appearance, showing up to play this past weekend. DJ Shumpert, on the other hand, is a basketball journeyman even the most hardcore fans have likely never heard of.
He averaged just under three points per game in the NBA Development League last season. Before that, according to his LinkedIn page, Shumpert worked as a software engineer.
But the 6-foot-7-inch Shumpert dunked mightily over the 7-foot Drummond on Sunday -- then his mom adorably spread the good news on Facebook.

Vicki Watson's proud message begins in classic mom fashion: "Just look at my son, DJ Shumpert!"

Drummond, for his part, was a good sport about it all. (Although hashtagging your own tweet #goodsport in reference to yourself is kind of weird, right? But we digress.)
Drummond, for the record, finished the game with 27 points and 18 rebounds, putting those All-Star talents on display when he wasn't getting dunked over.
But the real moral of this story is that moms rule. Go hug yours if you can.
