Actors have found a number of different ways to keep themselves busy while social distancing at home — from Daniel Radcliffe's large Lego projects to Sam Neill's motivational poetry readings.

Andy Serkis — of Lord of the Rings fame — is no exception.

Earlier this week, the Gollum actor took to Twitter to share some veiled video hints about an upcoming "adventure" he'd be taking part in on Friday — and on Thursday, the details were finally revealed.

The adventure in question? A 12-hour live-streamed reading of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, which Serkis is undertaking in order to raise money for the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and children's charity Best Beginnings.

Serkis' GoFundMe page has already raised around £30,000 at the time of writing, and the reading – which kicks off at 10 a.m. GMT/6 a.m. ET on Friday, May 8 – hasn't even begun yet.

You'll be able to follow along via the link on Serkis' GoFundMe — Middle-earth fans, rejoice!
