Black cat invades football pitch, delights Twitter

The Anfield cat is back in black.

LONDON -- For the superstitious fan, black cats and sporting events don't really mix.

However, Anfield pitch is no stranger to feline sightings, which have come to be met with a largely affectionate response.

On Monday night's match between Liverpool and Manchester United, a black cat sighted scurrying across the field before the start of the game caused something of a stir on Twitter.

The match finished in a 0-0 draw, so it would appear that this black cat brought no luck or bad luck to both teams.
