At Mashable, we get really excited when the technology of tomorrow becomes the tech of today. Not just excited – obsessed.

In the spirit of this fervor for the future, we’re thrilled to announce an innovative VR documentary series with Within, a virtual reality media company that’s pushing the boundaries on what VR can do and where the technology is headed. VR isn’t just for gaming anymore – it’s for fully immersing yourself in an experience.

Debuting this month on the Within app is The Possible, directed in part by David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Chef’s Table).

Each episode takes viewers on a 360-degree journey inside today’s most fascinating scientific and technological breakthroughs. The series explores things like robots, technology and space – all the things that we at Mashable (and you) love best.

Together, Within and Mashable will venture into deep space, meet robot dogs and travel at the fastest known speed on land. Over the course of this five-episode mini-doc series, see first hand how these innovations will change our future and discover the passion and grit of the inventors behind them.

Over the next four months, we are producing in-depth stories related to each episode, publishing the stories on Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and Mashable.com. (Check out the first one here.)

Our first episode, Hello, Robot, takes you inside the never-before-seen labs of Boston Dynamics and offers a second feature, Unimpossible Missions, from GE. Watch on Within then stay tuned to Mashable to discover when new episodes are premiering, explore fun extras and more.

At Mashable we don’t just report on the future – we also help create it.

BONUS: When a robot, isn't just a robot
