Another private school in Australia is caught up in an "inappropriate images" scandal.

A 16-year-old student from St. Michael's Grammar School in Melbourne is under investigation, after allegations that he'd been using Dropbox to share nude images of high school girls, in what The Age is calling a "pornography ring" of circulated content.

Police confirmed with Mashable Australia that they "received a report in relation to inappropriate images being distributed by students in the St Kilda East area," adding that investigation is ongoing.

St. Michael's principal, Simon Gipson told Guardian Australia that the school contacted police and said, "While we cannot comment on action taken, we continue to make all decisions according to our behavioural expectations framework, which is based on our core values of dignity, respect, care and compassion."

The incident comes only five days after a video called "Tinder Boot Camp" was released online. Made by students at another private school, Melbourne Grammar, the video saw boys rating their formal dates. One boy featured said "This is Grammar, boys. That means nothing, and I mean nothing, under a seven."

Last month saw yet another private boys school in Melbourne, Brighton Grammar, expel two students who created an Instagram account featuring girls as young as 11 without their knowledge — posting offensive, highly illicit comments and asking followers to vote for "slut of the year."

With more and more incidents of this kind appearing in the news, blame is being thrown far and wide, with people referencing parenting, private school culture, wider gender equality issues and social media itself for influencing the behaviour of these boys. Future men.

Something has clearly and fairly urgently got to give, if we're to be sure this is the last we'll hear of this kind of thing.

St. Michael’s Grammar School has been contacted for comment.
