New drone footage is the best look yet at Apple's enormous 'Spaceship' campus

New drone footage shows Apple's Campus 2 under major development in Cupertino, California. Viewers can really see the immensity of it all, with everything from a 100,000-square-foot fitness center, a 2 million-square-foot parking garage and quite a few different research and development centers.

The drone flies over what appear to be rooftop basketball and tennis courts, which will be built in front of the main "spaceship" building. And you can see the new North Tantau auditorium, a 120,000-square-foot, $161 million glass-enclosed auditorium with seating for 1,000. Expect to see future Apple unveilings there.

The 2.8-million-square-foot spaceship structure, the main circular building that will surround most of the other structures, is also bigger and more developed than we've seen before. It's come a long way since our look at it in March (see below).

There's also a lot going on with the surrounding terrain. You can see a dirt pyramid that's being used to cover different buildings, and a lot of land mid-landscaping.

The video also shows Apple's future clean energy generators, as the drone flies over solar panels, fuel cells lining the garage and generators powered by renewable energy.

While the project has experienced a few delays, it is expected to open in 2017 and cost $5 billion. Norman Foster, the architect behind the Reichstag and the Hearst Tower, is designing the facility.
