All is not well in the land of apps.

Apple's App Store went down Tuesday, preventing new downloads and updates for iOS apps. The company confirmed that there is an issue with the service in a status update.

"Users are unable to sign in to multiple stores/services or make purchases," read the 12:04 p.m. statement which officially lists it as an "outage."

The App Store is still down at the time of this writing, and Twitter users, as to be expected, are not happy.

It is not clear exactly how widespread the outage is, though this San Francisco-based reporter is experiencing it as well.

And the problem appears to not be limited to the App Store. According to Apple, the iTunes Store is experiencing outages as well. So is the Mac App Store.

We reached out to Apple for comment, and will update this when and if we hear back. In the meantime, cross your fingers that you're not missing out on any great updates.

This post has been updated to note that the iTunes Store and Mac App Store are also experiencing outages.

UPDATE: March 27, 2018, 2:27 p.m. PDT According to Apple, all the affected services have been restored. Still no word on what caused the outages.
