Future iPad Air models may get one of iPhone’s best features — here’s how we know
We've got good news and bad news for iPad Air and iPad mini fans out there.
The good news is, according to a report from market research firm Omdia (via 9to5Mac), Apple plans on adopting fresh new OLED displays for both models of its flagship tablet. The bad news? It might not happen until 2026 at the earliest.
However, there is a sliver of positive news if you don't have the patience for a 2026 OLED iPad . Omdia's research suggests that Apple will launch an OLED iPad Pro in the early part of 2024, significantly reducing the wait time for people who need that sweet OLED magic. This corroborates previous reporting by the likes of Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who typically has a nose for accurate Apple scoops.

Just about anyone with a recent iPhone would tell you the displays look real nice. Maybe someday the iPad Air and iPad mini models will share in that niceness, too.
