Don't fret if your new iPad Pro arrives slightly bent, Apple says

It's not Bendgate.

Owners of the newest iPad Pro have noticed their devices are slightly bent.

Apple confirmed the strange warping issue, which affects the aluminium chassis of the iPad, to The Verge, but the company doesn't consider it a defect.

Apple said the subtle bend is a result of the manufacturing process, occurring after the device's metal and plastic components cool.

The tech giant added that it shouldn't affect performance, nor should the bend worsen as time goes by. Still, if you find the bend annoying, you should be able to exchange or return the device to Apple or retailers.

The revelation comes after a viral YouTube video in November purported to show how fragile the new iPad Pro is by forcibly bending the tablet.

For Mashable's review of the new iPad Pro, we tried bending the tablet and found that there was no flex at all with moderate amount of pressure, and the device remained rigid.

Of course, the suspicion over Apple devices being susceptible to warping stems from 2014's Bendgate, in which the internet got into a tizzy over the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus bending in people's pockets — something which Apple was quick to ensure wouldn't happen again.
