If you're thinking about picking up a Nintendo Switch 2, you're going to need to consider how much storage space you might need. Nintendo recently confirmed that the Switch 2 will only support the microSD Express card in terms of expandable options. That means regular microSD cards aren't a viable storage method for your new system, and if the Switch 2 is indeed up for preorder anytime soon, you might be in for a long wait if you don't snag some microSD Express cards now. And it's a good time to do so, thanks to a deal at Amazon.

As of April 16, get the Lexar 1TB microSD Express Card for $173.05 at Amazon, down from its usual price of $199.99. That's $26.94 off, or a discount of 13%.

If you want to download more games than the Switch's 256GB internal storage can handle, this Lexar card will have your back. It's about four times faster than normal microSD cards, with faster loading and boot times. It offers up to 600 MB/s write speeds and read speeds up to 900MB/s. The 1TB version means you should have more than plenty of space for multiple games, screenshots, and saved games, too.

If you're not interested in getting a Switch 2, these cards are also compatible with your Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and other portable gaming handhelds. You've got options here, but the most important part is gearing up with these cards before you need them so you're not caught without one. Picking one up on sale is your best bet while you wait for the new Switch, and you'll be ready to go when it finally arrives.
