Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi won't be able to attend the Academy Awards in February after President Donald Trump put a halt to U.S. travel from seven Muslim countries on Friday, and Hollywood is rallying support.

The director is nominated in the foreign-language category for his film The Salesman. He won the Oscar in 2012 for his film A Separation.

Trump's executive order bans entry into the United States for 90 days for people from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen and Libya. The Academy Awards will be held on Feb. 26.

Artists also responded to Trump's executive order beyond its effect on this year's Academy Awards.
