There’s a drone ban looming over the U.S. right now, due to growing trade tensions between the U.S. and China, along with security concerns surrounding Chinese-made drones.

Some reports say that by Dec. 23, all drones manufactured in China will require a formal security review. Those who don’t make the deadline will be added to the FCC’s “covered list,” which means they won’t be able to be sold in the U.S.

As of Aug. 9, no audit has been scheduled. And DJI’s even called on the government to do its worst as they have “nothing to hide.” Even so, the company said it’s been struggling to import its drones into the U.S., and retailer supply is starting to dry up.

If you want to get a DJI drone, or one of the many others that could be blocked in the U.S., now’s the time to head to Amazon and make your purchase. The DJI Neo is currently $199, in stock, and ready to ship, but there’s no telling how much longer that will be the case. It’s sold out on the DJI website and Best Buy already.

This is a mini drone with level-4 wind resistance and 4K UHD video. (So, you should be able to get stable footage on a moderately windy day.) It has multiple control options, including a voice control mode, and can stay airborne for up to 18 minutes. Its smaller size, beginner-friendly controls, and 4K video make it a great option for travelers, creators on a budget, or anyone looking for a high-end drone without the high price tag.

While we wouldn’t usually recommend buying anything from a third-party seller, AeroTech Hubs has a 98 percent positive rating with a substantial transaction history.
