'You're the Worst' actress calls out Hollywood's complicity in electing Trump
Here's a thought: maybe normalizing the treatment of women as objects in entertainment is the sort of thing that helps gets a man with a history of being openly predatory towards women elected president.
You're the Worst star Aya Cash shared a screenshot of an email she sent to her agent after her first audition in Trump's America, which didn't go so well. Cash describes the scene, in which women auditioning for the role were crying in the waiting room.
"I think I have to not go in for parts that are there so a man can want to fuck them with no actual story line or character," Cash writes. "It feels like these little concession[s] have created a climate that allow[s] a man like Trump to be our president."
