You can bid on a rare photo of Babe Ruth pretending a baseball bat is his penis

"One of the most unusual and interesting Babe Ruth photographs ever offered for public sale," reads the description for Lot 595. "Incredible snapshot photograph shows the Babe with bat between his legs like it was his penis."

Um ... 

That's right -- an apparently rare photograph in which baseball legend and American folk hero Babe Ruth appears to pretend a baseball bat is a giant hard-on could be yours. The vintage dick joke is, um, "up" for auction. 

Here's a look at the photograph in question, via Leland's Auctions. Bidding runs through June 17. At the time of this writing, the highest of eight bids was $1,948.72.

"The image was obtained directly from the Wells Estate several years back, and is an interesting reference to the prodigious size of Ruth’s member, which remains a part of the Bambino's legend," Lot 595's description reads. "It is interesting to note that this perfectly embodies the camaraderie of the Babe and his teammates or actually of any players in team sports." 

Well then! Not much to add to that -- other than the "near mint" original photograph measures just 4.5 by 2.75 inches.
